Due to a worker shortage, Round Rock Refuse is currently on a delayed garbage pickup schedule this week. This does not affect curbside recycling. Customers can place both garbage and recycling at the curb on their scheduled pickup days and simply wait an additional day to retrieve their garbage can from the curb. The delayed pickup schedule will also postpone the remaining Spring Clean-Up bulk item pickup days.

The City of Round Rock will host an in-person job fair to provide opportunities for local talent to connect with City Departments to fill critical vacancies and help job seekers find a fulfilling career opportunity. Job seekers will have opportunities to meet face-to-face with City representatives regarding openings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 at the United Heritage Center at Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd.

The City of Round Rock's water system is rated "superior" by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and meets or exceeds all drinking water standards. Each year, the City must release a Consumer Confidence Report that provides information about our water system, including water quality data and compliance with drinking water rules.

The Local Legend program recognizes individuals, places, businesses, groups, institutions, publications and/or organizations that have had a lasting impact on the culture, development and history of Round Rock. Nominations for the 2022 awards are now being accepted and are due on Aug. 1.

Recently, some Round Rock utility customers have reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be with Utility Billing for the City of Round Rock. The caller advises the customer of an outstanding water bill and requests credit card information to satisfy the large debt to avoid cut-off of service. This is a scam.

We all know Round Rock rocks, but now it’s official – again. Niche, a company dedicated to connecting people to their future “schools, neighborhoods and workplaces,” has listed Round Rock among the best cities in America to live, buy a house, raise a family and receive a top public school education.

Beat the heat with an earlier time for this popular art show in Downtown Round Rock. Shop for unique and original artwork by local fine artists, who create original artworks in a variety of mediums. Some of them will also be doing demonstrations of their art-making before your eyes.

The Voice Inc. and the City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department will once again host the highly-popular Juneteenth Festival. This free festival at Old Settlers Park will be jam-packed with performers, including Jay Shalé, The Levites, VEDO and more! Learn more about this week's other Juneteenth events at the link below.

Round Rock's Rock'N River will serve as a host facility for the World's Largest Swimming Lesson event. This free event will be one of hundreds taking place across the globe aimed at providing kids, parents, and caregivers exposure to lifesaving water safety skills. The first 100 entrants will receive a free T-shirt.

Bring the entire family and enjoy free, themed activities on select Friday nights at Yonders Point, located just southwest of the baseball fields in Old Settlers Park. Our next event will feature a glow party with a live DJ, and free food and refreshments.
