December Dinner
Special Guest Entertainment

The Lindy Sisters
"Music From Times Past"

Wednesday, December 7, 2016 -
No Host Bar starts at 6:00 p.m.
Dinner starts at 7.p.m.

Come celebrate the holidays with us! Our annual holiday dinner is always a fun and festive time. This year, we've invited The Lindy Sisters to be our special guests and entertainment for the evening.

It's time to sit back, relax, have an adult beveredge or two and listen to this retrospective 1940's era trio of songstresses with three part harmony reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters! It will be an evening full of costumes, seamed hosiery, red lips, hats & gloves, choreography, big band swing, and incredible harmony sung through vintage microphones.

The Lindy Sisters' passionate desire to transport their audiences to the glamorous era of swing, has landed them at venues such as The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, The Hip Kitty Jazz Club in Claremont, Redlands Bowl, the Sentimental Journey Fly-In, the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Pasadena, California Center for the Arts Escondido, The Cicada Club in Los Angeles, USO Concerts, the Queen Mary in Long Beach, The USS Iowa in San Pedro as well as traveling tours on the east coast.

Make sure you have signed up on line or have a current reservation. Hope to see you there!  More information about the Lindy Sisters and the dinner event
can be found at this link.

Dinner is catered and open to the public ($20/person), reservations are required prior to 6 p.m., Monday prior to dinner, either on-line or call 805 296-1935

A Cougar Reborn!

Grumman F-9F-8P

It's hard to believe the Grumman Cougar shown above is the same aircraft displayed in our banner this month.  We know quite a few people had little or limited hope for the partial carcass of the F-9 when it first arrived at Estrella Warbird Museum several years back.  We have a terrific, all volunteer, talented group of people whom spend endless passionate hours helping to preserve a bit of history. It wasn't just a wash, tune-up and paint project.  You will notice there were a "few" missing parts. Not to be dismayed, they researched, designed and recreated that which was not furnished when we took delivery. For additional information on this Cougar, visit our website.

We would like to extend our congratulations and "Thank YOU!" for an awesome job to everyone who took part in this restoration during the past year!  This is another example of some of the great projects the restoration crew works on.  If you have some free time on your hands and you would like to play a part in ongoing or our next project, we'd love to talk to you!  Visit our volunteer page and send us a note or fill out an application.  Remember, restoration experience is not a requirement.  We have a great volunteer staff that loves to work and teach those whom are so inclined.
Star Wars Showing at Woodland Auto Display!

1956 Ford F-100 Big Window
It's a Ford F-100 "Big Window" pick up with a Chrysler 300 HEMI 354 CID engine, modified gull-wing doors, with more horsepower than a herd of wild horses could ever muster. Affectionately named "Star Wars", this custom truck was owned by former Paso Robles resident, Vern Rauch.  It is one of the finest custom creations in the U.S., and you can see it today at the Woodland Auto Display at the Estrella Warbird Museum.  For more information on this vehicle, visit our website, here.

Calling all kids and collectors!
