First Congregational Church of Akron Suicide Awareness and Prevention Workshop
First Congregational Church of Akron will be hosting a Suicide Awareness and Prevention Workshop on March 27, 2021, 10am-12pm. Suicide is still stigmatized and not openly discussed, but it is a reality that affects many. In an effort to help with the knowledge and skills necessary to intervene with those at risk for suicide, we invite you to join hosts Rev. Antigoné Pearson, who serves as Associate Minister at First Church of Akron and is also a US Army Reserve Chaplain, and Rev. Andrew Courtney, who has served multiple parishes, and now serves as an Ohio Army National Guard Chaplain.
Amistad Chapel Offers Across the Oceans
Amistad Chapel United Church of Christ invites you to unite with siblings in the Philippines on Saturday morning, March 27 at 8:00-9:30am EST. This is an amazing time to meet people from Dumaguete, learn from their experiences and to share love and gratitude. Dr. Ben S. Malayang III is the former President of Silliman University and a recognized authority on environmental management and international development. Dr. Malayang will offer a 20 minute presentation, followed by a break-out conversation amongst the participants: students, pastors and interested laity from the US and the Philippines. It is a rich time to engage in heartfelt conversation across the oceans. Feel free to contact Rev. Janet Ross for more information.
