CLAIM POLICY FOR PLOWING DAMAGES

Email us at office@westpikeland.com and provide your address. We will inspect the damage and make the determination of fault.

Please note that if the damage is from the plow physically making contact with the mailbox/post, we will repair if possible or provide $50 towards a replacement.

If the damage is from the movement of snow, the responsibility for making repairs shall be borne by the property owner.
Where's My Plow?
All of PennDOT's roughly 2,200 owned and rented plow trucks are equipped with Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) systems, which use in-truck technology to log and share data in real-time for that truck. The routes of these interstate and expressway trucks can be viewed in real-time at 511PA.com.

Please note that our township plows are not equipped with AVL, so the only way you can track our progress on township maintained roads is looking out your window.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COUNCIL NEWS
“The Dirty Little Secret of Lawn Care” Zoom Presentation on February 24, 2022 at 7pm

Lawns should be a valuable planetary resource; they slow the pace of heavy rains and help prevent floods; they pump an almost unimaginable amount of oxygen into the air; they sequester a massive amount of carbon and slow the effects of climate change; and they’re the last place you’re allowed to roll your children around in public. But lawns become the enemy when unnecessary chemicals turn these huge benefits into an environmental nightmare. Be prepared to take notes when You Bet Your Garden host Mike McGrath reveals ‘the Dirty Little Secret of Lawn Care”.

DOG LICENSE INFORMATION

All dogs three months or older must be licensed by Jan. 1 of each year. Violators can be cited with a maximum fine of $300 per violation plus court costs.
An annual license is $8.50 and a lifetime license is $51.50. If the animal is spayed or neutered, the annual fee is $6.50 and lifetime is $31.50. Discounts are available to older adults and people with disabilities.
The small license fee helps the millions of dogs in the state by funding the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement.
Dog licenses are available from your local county treasurer and other licensing agents.

Reasons for dog licensing:

It’s the law. All dogs three months and older must have a current license.

If your dog gets lost, a license is the best way to get him back. A license helps animal control and shelters identify your dog and get him back home safely.

The cost of a license is less than the penalty for being caught without one. Owners who fail to license their dogs could face a fine of up to $300 for each unlicensed dog.

License fees support animal control. The annual fee you pay to license your dog helps keep shelters running and supports the work of the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement, which is responsible for ensuring the welfare of dogs, regulating dangerous dogs and overseeing annual licensing and rabies vaccinations.

News from the Mill at Anselma
The Mill at Anselma was recently featured on the Chester County Historic Preservation network’s December program for their virtual heritage series.

With the holiday season being such a busy time, you might have missed the video “Christmas Unfolds at Anselma.” It follows the various Miller’s families through the years, and it is narrated by Frank Mercurio, our recent West Pikeland Judge of Elections. West Pikeland’s own talented actress, Carolyn Nelson, added so much skill and sparkle to our presentation! This is a 30 minute program and it’s a present from the past.

You can find the recording at the following link. Enjoy!   https://youtu.be/cxaXxexFP-s
