April 7, 2021

The mission of Trinity Church is to share Christ's love and grace in a vibrant community whose joyful spirit empowers people to do God's work.

Dear ones,

Trinity had 17 offerings during Holy Week. Morning Prayer and Compline were joined by midday Eucharists, bread baking, the Passion narrative, opportunities for prayer, and three Easter services. I found the liturgies deeply moving as we walked through Holy Week into the Feast of the Resurrection.
  • Heartfelt thanks to Mandy Anderson and the Altar Guild for the taking such tender care of our sacred spaces.
  • Thank you Rosemary Arneson, Val Folden, and the Digital Ministry Team for supporting our livestream ministry.
  • Thank you to Patrick Brantley for starting our new fire and helping us all on Easter morning.
  • Thank you Harry Dickinson, Michael Frye, vestry and ushers for keeping us safe as we gather for worship.
  • Thank you Priscilla Turner, Sam Burton, Michele Brantley, and Denise Symonds for your steady support of this wonderful parish.
Trinity is a special place and I’m grateful to be serving with you.
Alleluia! Christ is risen!

DIOCESAN-WIDE WORSHIP, SUNDAY, APRIL 11
The Bishops encourage congregations to join them in a Diocesan-wide Worship service for the Second Sunday of Easter, so that all members of the Diocese can share in the joy of the diocesan-wide gathering. We will have a watch party of the service at 10:00 AM on Facebook here or on YouTube here. A copy of the bulletin can be found here. This will be the only service for Trinity.

EASTER LILIES AVAILABLE

The Easter lilies that decorated the church this past Sunday are available to Trinitarians. They are located near the breezeway of Jamison Hall. Please take a lily or two to shut-ins, plant them in their/your garden or put them to good use in other ways.
TRINITY'S LENTEN OFFERING

The Lenten Mite Box offering will benefit Episcopal Relief and Development for Disaster Relief in Texas. The mite box offering will be collected on Sunday, April 18.

Please write a check for your offering and send to Trinity
or your donation can be submitted online.
SPECIAL OFFERINGS

This year’s Easter Offering will go to cover the expense of Trinity’s participation in our annual Rise Against Hunger meal packing event that we hope will occur later in the year when it is safe. The combination of your generosity and the hard work of many Trinitarians and guests means that we have packed tens of thousands of meals for hungry people all around the globe.

There is still time to give to the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday offering. As is traditional, the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday offering will go to support the ministries of the four dioceses of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East.
CAREGIVERS' SUPPORT GROUP will meet by Zoom on Thursday, April 8th, 10:00-11:30 am. Men and women who are caregivers for a disabled or ill adult or child are invited to attend the meeting. A link will be sent out to those persons who have attended or expressed interest in the meeting.
If you are interested in joining the group or have questions about it please contact Randall Clingenpeel (540-207-0600), Brenda Chase (540-226-2628), or Claire Curcio (540-479-6988).
TRINITY'S MONTHLY DROP-IN GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP will meet again on Monday, April 19, over Zoom, from 10:30 –Noon. Anyone who is finding his/her grief to be impacting daily life may discover some benefit in joining with other folk, who are experiencing difficulty traversing the journey through loss. Loss comes in many forms: the death of a loved one; the loss of good health; the loss of a job, income, home; the loss of good friends, neighbors, co-workers; and the loss of hopes and dreams.

For more information, or if you think you would like to attend, please contact Randall Clingenpeel at 540-207-0600 for information on how you can access the Zoom meeting.
MORNING PRAYER is offered weekdays at 6:30am on Facebook Live.
COMPLINE is offered on Facebook Live weekday evenings at 8:30PM.

YOUTH AND PARENTS OF TRINITY YOUTH

Amirah Ahmed, of Fredericksburg Muslim Youth, the local Muslim youth group, is looking to begin a Youth Interfaith Committee for the Fredericksburg faith community that will allow youth from all faiths to grow an interfaith community to facilitate important discussions for unity. Panel events, monthly meetings, and programs will be held virtually until it is safe to meet in person. The goal is to uplift youth of faith and to help youth better understand their differences and similarities. Parents, if your youth is interested in being Trinity’s representative to the Youth Interfaith Committee, please have them contact Sam Burton at sburton@rinity-fredericksburg.org for an application. A representative and an alternate will be chosen from those Trinity youth who apply.
Families with children are invited to join us for ONLINE SUNDAY SCHOOL this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for a 40 to 50-minute Sunday school lesson on Zoom. Our time together will include a few minutes of social (gathering) time, some songs we all know, some prayer time, a story, and an easy craft response to the story. This will be geared for children ages 5 through fifth grade, but older and younger people are welcome too. Each child/person will need a pencil, a few sheets of paper, and some crayons or colored pencils. I will email additional materials to everyone on Friday. If you have not received emails in the past with the information to join the class meeting and would like for your child to participate please contact Sam Burton at sburton@trinity-fredericksburg.org.
The YOUTH GROUP will meet this Sunday, April 11 via Zoom from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. We will watch a video, followed by a discussion, and end with a game. Look for an email Friday evening with the connection information. Trusted friends may be invited to participate in the Zoom meeting as well, just forward Friday’s email to them. To sign up for the meeting, or for more information, please contact Sam Burton at sburton@trinity-fredericksburg.org.
