Painting in the Park
Adults & Older Teens. Join Melinda with So-So Artsy for outdoor painting. Participants follow step-by-step instructions to recreate a painting. No experience required. All supplies included.

Hip Hop Dance for Kids
Grades K-3 & 4-8. This program is a fusion of hip hop dance moves to different genres of music. We will learn choreography, adaptability, and add our own personality to movements as well. There will be a performance for parents at the last class.

Foil Fencing
Learn the fundamentals of foil fencing. Swordsmanship has been practiced for centuries. First, it was to train for combat - the duel. Now, it is FUN and SAFE! Fencing improves hand-eye coordination, agility, dexterity, and stamina, as well as develops social skills and manners. Class includes stretching, footwork, lunges, attack, parry-riposte, strategy, tactics, techniques and bouting. All equipment is provided.

Ages 8-13. Our goal is to increase focus, self-control, Confidence and health in our children while having FUN! During our 6 week program your child will learn:

Kickboxing
Adults and Teens ages 13+. Chinese kickboxing or (san shou) is a combination of grappling, and kickboxing techniques. The Health and self-defense applications are out of this world! You will gain balance, speed, strength as well as amazing coordination and stamina. Instructor Robert Fleming is a multi-time National Chinese kickboxing champion.

Junior GameBOT Club
Grades 1-3. Want to make video games? Love building with LEGO® bricks? This club is for you! Learn how to create video games using Scratch, free software from MIT that you can use at home long after the class. Bring a flash drive to save your project. Then, we'll bring the action to life as we build and program LEGO® WeDo® robots to go with our game. We'll have a different theme with new games, robots and adventures for each 4 week session.

GameBOT Club
Grades 4-8. Learn to code as you create video games and program LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Robots. Over multiple sessions we'll follow student interests to explore options such as Alice 3D animation, Python, JavaScript and Robot C. No prior programming experience necessary.

Esports Leagues
Bedford Parks & Recreation is excited to announce that we will be offering esport leagues for youth and adults! Create teams, show off your gaming skills, and become a local legend! 

For one price of $30, get access to all of your favorite esports leagues! The fall season pass allows you to play in as many leagues as you’d like, all for the price of one! Leagues are 6 weeks long with 5 weeks of season play and 1 week of playoffs. Season begins the week of October 4.

Madden 21 for Xbox and PS4 - Mondays
Fortnite - Tuesdays (Solo) & Fridays (Duos)
Rocket League - Wednesdays (1v1 and 3v3)
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate - Thursdays

What else does the Fall Season Pass include? Request scrimmage with other players. GGLeague's resource library on a variety of different topics within esports. Access to other fun events through GGLeagues.

Prizes for top team include in-game currency and GGLeagues champion shirt and medal.
Art with Purpose
Art With Purpose offers purposeful guidance, direction and encouragement. Students will be instructed to: 
  • heighten their sensitivity
  • creatively respond to challenges
  • strengthen problem solving skills
  • practice decision making
  • explore new medias & methods
  • develop artistic skills
  • follow projects through to their rewarding culmination

The college process can be overwhelming and confusing, but we will help you feel confident in starting this process! Topics to be discussed include: *Things to consider when deciding which college to attend. *Applying for scholarships. *Getting help with the FAFSA. *Majors and career options to consider. *Tips on how to be successful in college and after graduating from college. *Why it is so important to avoid excessive debt. *Options to consider if you don’t go to college. *Common mistakes both students and parents make. This presentation is geared towards high school juniors and seniors and their parents.
