Presented by the CCC Information Security Center and Accessibility Center, this twice-annual event is packed with information and techniques you can apply to your professional role. Workshop information is geared specifically toward California Community Colleges personnel:

This session will cover Microsoft IAM features and use cases with a focus on Single Sign On (SSO) and conditional access based Multi Factor Authentication (MFA). It will include a demo of how to implement a conditional access MFA policy and register a SSO app from the app gallery.

1:10-1:40PM - Gaining Visibility into Your Network with Security Onion
This presentation showcases Security Onion to help an organization detect and analyze malicious traffic on the network. We will look at the full packet capture capability and popular packet inspection tools used to analyze those packets to detect threats. We will also explore the Security Onion Console to combine all threat information into one panel and the Security Onion Cases module used to track detected threats.

9:15-10:05AM - Navigating Faculty Responsibility for Accessible ICT Materials
An increased focus on closing the equity gaps in student success has brought accessibility to the forefront of current efforts to deliver optimal, supportive online learning environments for students. However, colleges often struggle to balance faculty workload (defined in negotiated bargaining contracts) with the time and expertise required to effectively build accessible learning environments. In this session, two faculty Distance Education Coordinators discuss their campus journeys through this process of ramping up faculty accessibility efforts.

10:15-11:05AM Optimizing Accessibility in Excel 365 Workbooks
This session will cover providing alternative text for graphic elements that present content; meeting WCAG requirements for contrast for text and some non-text elements; creating tables with the proper structure; and four keys for creating accessible charts. Participans will also receive an evaluation checklist that identifies how to repair accessibility issues identified through the built-in checker and a manual review.
Presenter:
George Joeckel manages the online training program at WebAIM, located at the Institute for Disability Research Policy & Practice at Utah State University. He has a master's degree in instructional psychology and technology, and over 20 years of teaching experience. He has developed online courses at Utah State since 2008, and he joined the WebAIM team at the end of 2015. The Accessible Documents video-based course launched in July 2018, and over 5,000 participants have enrolled in this independent-study training. George also conducts pre-conference workshops and delivers presentations at national conferences.
11:15AM-12:05PM - Compton College's Accessibility Journey
Accessibility is a huge responsibility where the old saying "It takes a village" definitely applies. As an institution, Compton College has shifted from relying primarily on @ONE’s accessibility training and have partnered with the CCC Accessibility Center to engage the entire campus on how to be more accessible. During this workshop session, we will explore how far we have come and where we would like to go.

1:00-1:50PM - Social Media Accessibility
Accessibility is a common priority when building websites, but have you considered how individuals with disabilities are engaging with your brand on social media? This workshop will outline the easy practices you can implement to ensure your social media content is accessible for everyone, including disabled users.
Presenter:
Alexa Heinrich is the Social Media Manager for St. Petersburg College (SPC) in Central Florida and the creator of the websites Accessible Social and Social Media Tea. She is a passionate advocate for creating accessible and inclusive content for social media and has given presentations on the subject to brands, organizations, and conferences around the world including Harvard University, John Deere, GoFundMe, and MIT. Alexa was the 2020 recipient of Sprout Social's "Always On" Award and was also named Marketer of the Year in 2021 by the Higher Education Social Media community.
2:00-2:50PM - Equidox
PDF accessibility continues to be a challenge for colleges and institutions as PDFs are popular but can be difficult to make accessible. Accessibility specialists must have the appropriate software applications for document remediation. In this session, we will discuss how Equidox, a web-based application, can assist in much of the remediation process. It now offers several new features that make it simpler for document remediation, yet stay true to the continued goal to meet and exceed WCAG guidelines.

3:00-3:30PM - Enable Zoom Automatic Transcription for More Equitable Online Classrooms and Meetings
Zoom has the capability in meetings and webinars you attend or host to have live, automatic transcriptions. This may be used by participants to easily follow the conversations or to meet accessibility requirements. Join us for this 30-minute presentation to learn about options, including what hosts and attendees can do to enable this feature.
