From the Minister

Dear Friends,

Last Sunday I began a short talk series on prosperity.

In part one, I asked: If you invited your money to pull up a chair and have a good ole fashion chat… what would it say to you?

The reason I asked you to think about this is because we’re so used to telling our money what to do (especially what to buy!) that we seldom stop and listen to the messages our money is trying to tell us.

For instance, is your money telling you you're living from a consciousness of lack—or—a consciousness of plenty?

Now, if you’re thinking… but we’re in the middle of a pandemic! You’re right. Which is why Charles Fillmore’s teachings around this subject are so refreshing and relevant. You see, he wrote about prosperity after the world had been through the 1918 Flu Pandemic and during The Great Depression of the 1930s.

And so, if your money supply is low, or your purse seems empty—and even if it isn’t—one of the practices he suggests is to take it in your hands and bless it! As you’re preparing your meals… bless the food! As you’re getting dressed… bless your clothes! As you’re tidying up… bless your home!

And Mr. Fillmore says, “Don’t take anyone’s word for it, try this for yourself.”

Well, I did just that this week. In my prayer and meditation practice, I blessed our money supply. And on Tuesday, I experienced an amazing prosperity demonstration! I don’t mean a small one. I mean a major one.

And so, I encourage you to do the same. Try this for yourself. Especially if you’re stressed about funds right now.

As my dear friend Gayle always says, “It couldn’t hurt!”

Here is a wonderful affirmative prayer (slightly modified) by Papa Charley to help you get started:

Infinite wisdom guides me, Divine Love prospers me, and I am successful in everything I do. In quietness and confidence I affirm the drawing power of Divine Love as my magnet of constantly increasing supply. I have unbounded Faith in the omnipresent substance increasing and multiplying at my word of plenty, plenty, plenty.

God, I thank Thee for unlimited increase in mind, money, and affairs.

There is much for which to be hopeful. We are the ones.

In Love and Unity,
Rev. Anne Tabor

About Steve:

Steven D. Morris is the Executive Producer of Theatre Arlington, having done more than 70 shows since 1981. His involvement has been as an actor, director and writer, and as the Executive Producer he says it is thrilling to be working with such a great staff and Board of Directors.

Steve received his BA in Communication (Speech and Theatre) from UTA and MA (Theatre) from the University of Houston. Recently Steve acquired his Non-Profit Management Certification and in 2020 he was honored with an Arlington High School Distinguished Alumni Award.

Steve was the Director of Theatre at Lamar High School for 27 years and when he retired the school’s auditorium was named for him. While at Lamar he directed more than 125 shows and received numerous awards and recognition for himself and his students including Teacher of the Year.

Steve is very active here at Unity of Arlington, where he is a Platform Leader and led a SpiritGroup and theatre ministry for several years. Additionally, community service has been important to Steve: he has prepared and served dinner once a month for 20 years to the residents of Samaritan House; volunteered with Arlington Animal Services and The Arlington Life Shelter.

Steve is blessed by great love in his life from his family, friends and his canine companion, Elvis. Although he rarely posts he invites you to follow him on Twitter (@thefamousmorris) with the caution that he "is not that interesting."

FOR THE COMMON GOOD
By Bianca Castro  Published April 28, 2021 • Updated on April 28, 2021 at 10:58 pm, nbcdfw.com

For much of the last year we have heard people ask, "When can we get back to normal?" Well, with vaccines now providing a glimmer of light at the end of a long tunnel, that tunnel might be getting longer because of those who are hesitant to get the shot(s). According to an article published April 28, 2021, some health agencies are actually extending their predictions of when herd immunity, that point at which most of a population is immune to an infectious disease, whether by vaccination or natural antibodies from prior infections, might be reached. Read the article here: https://bit.ly/3xKTp1E

The Louvre is getting ready to reopen and Mona Lisa is cooperating by getting her shot.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in
all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas
of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
