Statement on the Passing of Hugh McKean

The Lincoln Club of Colorado (LCC), the state’s oldest Republican allied organization, released the following statement today on the passing of Colorado House Minority Leader Hugh McKean:

“It was with a mix of shock and immense sadness that we received word of the untimely passing of Colorado State House Minority Leader Hugh McKean. Hugh was a great friend to the Club, and to our members, as he was to all who were fortunate enough to get to know him. His dedicated service to his state and district, his committed leadership to our party, and his compassion serve as an example to us all.

“Hugh’s commitment to conservative Republican principals was unwavering. He fought vigorously every day for policies that would improve the lives of Coloradans, and secure the blessings of liberty for years to come. He shared his love for our country, our state, and our way of life. He consistently demonstrated an ability to work with others to advance our ideals, showing compassion, understanding and friendship to all, including his political adversaries. His optimism, good humor, and steady leadership will be sorely missed.”
