Here are the top five takeaways

  1. As a community, we all need to do our part to support frontline workers. Continue to follow Public Health guidelines and be COVIDWISE.
  2. Ottawa is #StrongerTogether. Our community and healthcare workers are resilient, we continue to find new ways to better support one another.
  3. There is hope as we start to see more and more people get vaccinated.
  4. Throughout the pandemic local businesses have been manufacturing and producing PPE, providing food for healthcare workers, supporting assessment centres, and so much more. Thank you to the Ottawa businesses for continuously supporting our community.
  5. Planning has begun for the new Civic Hospital - one of the biggest projects happening in Ottawa. It will be a key economic driver, provide world class healthcare, and create new opportunities for innovation.

OBoT In The News

Over the last few months The Ottawa Board of Trade has been working with the Stratford Group to develop a three year strategic plan to help us continue to drive economic prosperity and help businesses to launch, adapt and grow.

If there is one word that encapsulates this last year, it is "uncertainty." A year into the pandemic, President and CEO of the Ottawa Board of Trade Sueling Ching suggests we focus on what we can control and "double down on what we know"

Ahead of the City Building Summit keynote speaker Jennifer Keesmaat says Ottawa needs to take ownership of its future. "It needs to embrace a very forward-looking future and every sector needs to take ownership of driving forward that change."
THANK YOU RENEWING MEMBERS!
Your Ottawa Board of Trade is a non-profit, non partisan, independent association that exists for the sole purpose of advocating for our businesses and growing community prosperity. Although we are driven by the needs of the entire business community, it is the members who make it possible for Ottawa to have a strong voice of business. And it may never be more important than now. So please join us in saying
THANK YOU to our members.
