Thousands Celebrate Mexican Independence Day at El Grito

Moreno Valley came alive on September 15 during the City's annual El Grito de Independencia festival at the Civic Center Amphitheater!


Thousands of people from MoVal and beyond for an unforgettable evening of fantastic charro and ballet folklórico performances, beautiful music from Mariachi Cantares and Rocio La Dama de La Cumbia, and a live feed of El Grito from the National Palace in Mexico City.

Honor Moreno Valley Service Members with Military Appreciation Banners & Pavers

Veterans Day is approaching, and the City is encouraging residents to submit applications for the City of Moreno Valley’s Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers programs. If you have someone you’d like to honor, please note that applications are due by September 29.


Military Appreciation Banners & Pavers recognize active duty military servicemen and women who are Moreno Valley residents, have immediate family members living in Moreno Valley or have graduated from a Moreno Valley high school. The banners will be displayed on streetlight poles near the Veterans Memorial and March Air Reserve Base.

Moreno Valley has beautiful trails, countless recreation programs, and 34 wonderful parks. The only thing that can make them even better is you!


Join us on Tuesday, September 26, at the Conference and Recreation Center for our second workshop for the Parks, Community Services, and Trails Master Plan!


At the workshop, you can view our work so far and provide feedback on how the City’s parks and trails can serve the Moreno Valley community. Collaborating with the City helps shape the future of MoVal parks!

Enter Your Submission for Our First-Ever Veterans Day Art Contest

Calling all Moreno Valley artists! There's still time to submit your artwork for our first-ever Veterans Day Art Contest!


We’re looking for the best and most patriotic artwork to display in our Conference & Recreation Center (CRC). This year’s theme is “To Those Who Served, and all Moreno Valley residents and veterans of Riverside County are invited to submit their patriotic works of art, passion, or remembrance.


The art show will take place on Veteran’s Day, November 11, in the CRC's Grand Valley Ballroom. Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m., and winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Winners can receive up to $1,000!


Interested? Submissions are accepted until November 1, so put your paintbrushes on the canvas, your pencils on the sketchpad, or get your photos to the printer and submit your masterpiece today!

Pet of the Week: Bella

Our Pet of the Week is Bella, a beautiful two-year-old German Shepherd. True to her name, Bella is a gorgeous girl who would be perfect for any Moreno Valley family. She's sweet, great with kids and other dogs, and loves to play and go on walks. Once you meet Bella, you'll want to make her a permanent part of your family.
