Due to possible adverse weather conditions, we are moving the service on March 6th from Crystal Lake Park to the church and via livestream. Everyone will be welcome at the church during this service. Proper safety precautions of mask requirements and social distancing will be in place. Seating will be available in both the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, with no reservation needed for seating in Fellowship Hall.

SANCTUARY SEATING FOR THE FEBRUARY 27TH AND MARCH 6TH SERVICES
As we gradually are rolling out processes to accommodate hybrid services moving forward, we're opening the Sanctuary to the congregation for both the February 27th and March 6th services! To accommodate social distancing, there will be limited capacity, so we encourage congregants to reserve their seating soon!
For the March 6th service, everyone in the congregation is welcome to attend in-person! There will be additional seating available in Fellowship Hall for those congregants without a reservation in the Sanctuary, or for those who would appreciate the flexibility and an added sense of social distancing. We hope to have a projector screen in place to provide a full visual and sound experience of our YouTube live stream as together you can enjoy worship with other UUCUC members who also make this choice.

Fannie Barrier Williams—-1855-1944
On Monday, April 25, 2016 The College at Brockport, State University of New York, honored alum Fannie Barrier Williams, its first African American female graduate. The institution dedicated a plaque to Williams, honoring in particular her civil rights work. Williams was an important Progressive Era activist. As you plan your holiday winter giving, please consider donating to the Little Free Pantries run by Julie Laut (in Urbana) and AJ Herzog (in Champaign), which they have maintained since March 2020. Their Amazon wish list has been updated to include unique winter items. All items off the wishlist will be delivered to Julie's house and shared between the two pantries. You are also welcome to drop off items in person at both locations. Questions? Contact Julie ( jlaut@hushmail.com), or AJ ( zogs92@gmail.com).

On February 27, we will have space in our sanctuary for 40 “backstage passes.” That is, you and your family can sign up to attend in-person, with the understanding that there will be some cords and cameras cluttering up the view, some pre-recorded online elements you’ll miss out on, and some overall tangles still being worked out.
Please use this link to sign up: https://rsvp.church/r/iDQBXJDb. Please note, the reservation form will close on Saturday, February 26th at 4:00 pm. There are still 25 seats open at this service.

From Jerry Carden & Tim Temple: We recognize the passing of our longtime UU friend and fellow gardener, Laura Wetzel. Laura did a lot of work for property and maintaining the church grounds in our early years of membership. She never wanted to linger in a nursing home environment. It was hard to hear she passed, but also glad to know she is at peace.
From David Gross: Claudia and David had planned a five-week winter trip to Florida to visit family, enjoy three weeks on a cruise ship and then some Spring Training Baseball, but it all fell apart. On the third day on the cruise ship, Claudia tested positive for COVID and was isolated in a medical cabin. They plan to leave the ship today after one week on board and hopefully are now driving home to Champaign.
From Jim & Sandy Hannum: We honor the memory of Laura Wetzel and offer condolences to her family.
From Karla Peterson: Thank you to all who joined RJP(Racial Justice) and REE (Religious exploration and Engagement) last night to learn from the film “I am not You Negro” and the discussion led by Dr Augustus Wood.

Access to quality education for all students is an issue of justice and equity. Students who
don’t have access to a quality education suffer long term consequences. The education
achievement gap is often described as an opportunity gap. Students who have access to
educational materials, enriching experiences and supportive adults within and outside the
school environment do better in school than students who do not have access to these
supports.
The CUSF is the only organization dedicated to supporting creativity, innovation and
excellence in Champaign-Urbana public schools. They do so by providing grants to
teachers as well as scholarships to students. Schools’ role in the lives of students and
families was made apparent during the pandemic of the past 22 months. As the impact of
the pandemic improves, the challenges facing teachers, students and their families will
continue. The financial support provided by CUSF allows teachers to do what they are
uniquely skilled at: responding to student and family needs in individual, direct and
