As we near the end of Black History Month, let me affirm our campus's work to become an antiracist and health-promoting community. The effort to become anti-racist is made in part through this month's education about Black culture and history. Such education must continue year round to promote greater equity and belonging, especially for those Beacons who have been historically undervalued and underserved. Paired with this education must be a culture of care for wellness. In that spirit, I encourage you to review the workshopsoffered by the Counseling Center as a way to improve your wellness or the wellness of one of your fellow Beacons. Let us continue supporting one another and our collective work to bring about greater social justice.
Be well, and let's continue to do some good today,
Shawn J. De Veau, J.D. (He series)
Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
