February 2022 Newsletter
Here's my favorite picture from Cupid Doesn't Flip Hamburgers. It was originally called Cupid Doesn't Flip Pancakes. My youngest son loved to mix up concoctions in the kitchen-much like Eddie and Howie do in the book.
If you will be near Sevierville, TN on February 19th, hope you'll stop it at the Rose Glen Literary Festival at the Sevierville Convention Center. I'll be autographing most of the day and speaking at 11:00. Lots of area authors will be there. It's free, except for the books and lunch!
HOW FUN IS THIS? CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 5 AND 12! If you know a kid who would like to enter a Draw the Author contest for a chance for their artwork to appear in Jarrett Lerner’s upcoming Geeger the Robot books check out this link.
A recent ban on a book has caused a controversy. I must admit I haven't read the book Maus yet and need to do so to be informed. If you are interested in this book and author, there will be a virtual conversation with the author on February 7th at 7:00 ET. You can sign up here.

Some of you may know I have moved a lot because of my husband's job (he was a medicinal chemist). We moved from Kentucky to Texas, Texas to California, California to Illinois, Illinois to Colorado, Colorado to Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania to Tennessee. In most of the places I've lived I've been lucky enough to join a writing critique group and meet lovely writers. In Texas, I met Anastasia Suen who has a fabulous slew of writing workshops. In fact, if you are interested in writing a picture books, you can join this one in progress.
