Southern Paramedic Station opening Wednesday, May 5th
New Castle County will officially cut the ribbon on the new paramedic station in Middletown on Wednesday morning, May 5th. The new Southern Paramedic Station will replace an existing substation off of North Broad Street in Middletown with a state-of-the-art facility that is capable of housing multiple paramedic teams and serving a larger swath of the Southern New Castle County region. County Executive joins Food Bank of Delaware to Stuff the Bus
County Executive Matt Meyer joined DART at the First State Plaza ShopRite for the semi-annual "Stuff the Bus" campaign for the Food Bank of Delaware. The roving food drive collects donations across the state to help stock the stores of the Food Bank of Delaware. As the COVID-19 pandemic has generated unprecedented demand, multiple food drives have popped up around Delaware. To see video from the event, CLICK HERE.
County recognizes outstanding employee volunteer service
New Castle County has awarded six employees with Jefferson Awards for their outstanding service to their community this year. One recipient, M/Cpl. Tracey Duffy, will represent New Castle County at the national Jefferson Awards. Duffy was awarded for, among a number of community activities, her work organizing and leading the Police & Princess Ball each year. To see video of the honorees, CLICK HERE.
Pop-up COVID-19 testing sites continue next week
New Castle County will continue offering regular pop-up testing sites across the county, in addition to regular testing sites operated by the State of Delaware. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are free, quick, easy and painless. Results are usually returned in 24-48 hours.
