Annual 8th Grade Trip
We’re super excited to resume offering the annual spring break trip for all Iron Horse 8th graders to Washington D.C., Baltimore, Gettysburg, Philadelphia and New York City next spring break (April, 2022). Exact travel dates will be Friday night, April 1 thru Thursday evening, April 7, 2022. Cost will be approximately $3,200 per student all inclusive and is limited to the first 49 students and parent chaperones who register. If you would like to see a detailed itinerary, please email me at keenchildcare@gmail.com and I will be happy to share it with you.
We will begin taking registrations in the fall once we are all certain that group travel next year will be unaffected by the pandemic and that all venues we are scheduled to visit have reopened. If you have any questions that can’t wait until the start of next school year, please let me know. Thank you!!

Sincerely,

Sarah Moore / parent chaperone / keenchildcare@gmail.com
Sanda Slye-Hittle / parent chaperone / sandra.hittle@gmail.com

IHMS PTA
HMS PTA Needs Volunteers for 2021/22 Positions

PTA is looking for some volunteers to fill some very important roles for next year.

Many of our current board members and program volunteers are graduating out. Now is the time to learn from them.

If you are interested in any of the following positions or have questions about a position, please email our current PTA President Diana Davis. She has been in the PTA for the past 13 years and has worked on nearly every committee. She has a wealth of information to pass on and is eager to guide the next generation of the PTA family.

Feel free to join us at our upcoming PTA meeting this Thursday, April 22nd and get a glimpse about who we are and what we do.

SRVUSD Strategic Plan Stakeholder Engagement

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District wants to hear from our community! The SRVUSD Board of Education is in the process of developing a long-term strategic plan for the organization that will set goals and strategic priorities for our entire organization. To help inform this plan, the Board of Education wants to hear the thoughts and ideas of our local parents and business community.

The primary areas of focus for which we are seeking your input are Equity, Deep Learning and Innovation, and Social Emotional Well-Being.

Our Board of Education wants to hear from all members of our school community. Input is anonymous, so please join the discussion. Add your voice. Be creative. Be honest. The Board’s desire to align resources, including time, talent and dollars, to ensure we make SRVUSD education great for all students, will benefit from your input.

Local school sites are hosting Stakeholder Engagement discussions at meetings at the schools. To provide input, you can join in the discussion at your school site meeting. We are also happy to bring a presentation to your company or community group. If you are not able to attend a presentation in person, please offer your thoughts anonymously online before May 5, 2021, by visiting our website at www.srvusd.net/StakeholderEngagement.

If you have questions, please email: communications@srvusd.net.

A Question About COVID-19 Testing and Reporting
All school districts are required to report positive COVID-19 cases to the county. The question is, “If we report only positive tests, won’t that skew the county results?
The answer to that is testing laboratories are required to report both positive and negative COVID test results directly to the county. This metric is one of several used by the state to determine the positivity rate (number of cases per 100,000 residents) and allow counties to move between the various tiers (i.e., purple, red, etc.). The District only gets involved in reporting positive cases (not test results).

Access to COVID Testing for Students and Families-
The San Ramon Valley Unified School District has partnered with PMH Laboratories to arrange students' and families' opportunities to have access to COVID testing. Testing will take place at the SRVUSD Education Center. Please visit the testing information page on our website to make an appointment and for more information
