Dear Temple Israel Family,
We hope you are safe and healthy in this (again) uncertain time. This is not the email we want to be writing to you this morning, but the COVID-19 surge has caused a significant change in the running of our synagogue. As of today both the Miami-Dade County dashboard and the CDC county dashboard are currently showing 35% positivity rate. This is 20 points higher than the highest level listed on our COVID-19 matrix. Given these circumstances our Temple Israel congregation is now 100% virtual. We need congregational support now more than ever in upholding our value of Pikuach Nefesh (to save a soul).
Until further notice, please note the following:
- All life cycle events will be postponed.
- Funerals will be held virtually.
- Shabbat Services (Friday and Saturday), Joseph’s Table, Religious School (Sunday and Tuesday), Adult Education and all other classes or programs will be held virtually.
- All committee and board meetings will be held virtually.
Temple Administrative Office:
- Our offices will be closed to all visitors and guests. There will be a rotating schedule of staff in the office each day; all others will be working remote from home.
- If you have a scheduled in-person meeting with one of our staff or clergy members, please contact them directly to schedule virtually.
Thank you, again, for all of your support for Temple Israel of Greater Miami.
Should you have any questions, please let us know.
With gratitude,
Jacqueline D. Greenberg
