Welcome to the 2022 Golf Season!
At Heart River, we look forward to a great season and welcome all of our returning and new pass holders this year. Make sure to watch this newsletter to come out the last week of each month and keep an eye on our social media for all things HRGC as the season progresses.

We would like to introduce you to some new faces at the course this year, they will be working in the pro shop as well as outside services. Derick VanDebossche is a student at DSU and is also on the coaching staff for the Blue Hawks football team. Steve Stroud comes to us after many years as a managing partner of The Mix 105.7. After being "Totally Amped" for over 12 years he has decided to apply his talents here at Heart River. Sydney Lund will begin her Heart River journey in June. She is currently a teacher and coach for the Watford City School District. Jaryn Degele will be helping us outside this summer. Jaryn is a hard worker and we look forward to having him a part of our team this year. Rylee Davis will also be helping out with the driving range and cart fleet. Rylee is a student at Dickinson High School and will be a fun addition to the team. Of course, we enjoy strong, experienced support from our returning crew - Tim Mendro, Hunter Myran, Scott Miller, Duane Stadel, Jace Elkin and Kaden Selle. Welcome Back!

With the expected increase in play at HRGC and to keep the course running smoothly, we ask all golfers to be courteous of one another and adhere to the following guidelines:

  • BOOK only the tee times needed for your group. Do not book more than required. Pro Shop staff will monitor this and address it as needed.

  • CANCEL tee times either online or by calling the Pro Shop when you or others in your group are unable to play, preferably 24 hours in advance.

  • ARRIVE at the course at least 15 minutes prior to your tee time to allow time to get ready and get to the first tee on time.

  • ALWAYS CHECK-IN at the Pro Shop before heading to the first tee.

  • PACE OF PLAY is no longer than 4 hours and 20 minutes for 18 holes.

Golf Starter/Ranger
HRGC is looking for a starter/ranger for the busy golf season. The Golf Ranger & Starter position work closely with the golf course guests on a daily basis. This position is essential in helping to provide a pleasant experience to the guests of our facilities.
MAINTENANCE UPDATE
We are happy to report, the entire golf course has zero turf damage and has never looked better thanks to protective coverings on the greens and some much needed moisture from Mother Nature in April and May.

THANK YOU to our hard working maintenance crew! This spring, we are planning several golf course improvement projects as part of our continued commitment to improve on an already great golfing experience. Six foot wide concrete cart paths will be poured on Holes 1, 2, 3 and 7. This will complete the continuous cart paths on the front nine holes. A new concrete teeing surface placed forward of the driving range tee allows us to use tee mats on the pad in early spring and late fall when we need to protect the range tee grass from excessive traffic. We have just taken delivery on over 30 large balled and bur lapped trees as part of our ongoing tree replacement program. Most of these trees will be planted on the front nine where we have lost the majority of the trees. The bunker repair work that was started last summer will be completed this spring along with several fairway drainage projects as well. The golf course maintenance crew has been working hard to bring you perfect course conditions this spring. With all of the course improvements, 2022 is shaping up to be an amazing golf season--we encourage you to get out and enjoy all of the beauty and challenge that HRGC has to offer!

Welcome PGA Junior League Participants
During the first full week of June, we'll see the 3rd edition of the PGA Junior League beginning on Monday, June 6th. We look forward to some great competition this year.

Heart River Shootout
This year's Heart River Shootout will be held June 25-26. The 2-person event hosts one of the truly unique formats of any tournament this side of the Red River.
Deadline is June 22.
