September 2023 - News and Events

Remember Steven our USDA NIFA Grant Cycle 1 student? He attended our 2022 McMullen County Veterinary Science Day Camp as well as our 2023 East Foundation Day Camp and our 2023 TAMU Veterinary Science Summer Camp. Well, Steven is now a freshman at Texas A&M University and VSCP would like to officially welcome him to our team as our newest student worker!

Congratulations Steven on your acceptance to TAMU and on your new role with VSCP! We are thrilled to welcome you to the team!

USDA NIFA Grant Recipient Spotlight!

We have entered our second year of our USDA NIFA grant for students lacking veterinary education opportunities.

Here is our first spotlight of this cycle!

Help us welcome Hazel Capehart to the VSCP family!

Hazel is entering her Senior year at Cross Roads High School this year. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is an active member in FFA academics and show teams, class officer, FCA, and Four-year cheerleader with Senior All-American honors. Hazel has been a competitive Cheerleader and Dancer for the last 12 years, allowing her to travel all over the US. A unique fact about her is that she is a triplet and is hearing impaired. Her motto is “A disability is not a roadblock up a mountain, it only creates curves in your path.”

We wish her the best of luck.....join us in doing so!
