Supporting and Shaping Regional Economic Recovery and Renewal

Scotland’s colleges are playing a leading role in the design and delivery of regional economic strategies thanks to support from CDN’s Economic Recovery Group (ERG). The last 12 months have seen the ERG Team supporting a number of colleges as they navigate the intricacies of working in partnership with a variety of organisations in their respective regions. View Phase 1 Summary Report here.

The ERG team are delighted to publish five case studies outlining the success factors, challenges, solutions and impacts experienced by these colleges while framing the potential next steps they can pursue.

  • Piloting the role of Forth Valley College being at the heart of planning and driving regional economic development.
  • Strengthening the alignment of Ayrshire College with the strategic priorities for regional economic development in Ayrshire.
  • Supporting Dumfries and Galloway College as it leads a collaborative initiative responding to delivering regional skills needs.
  • Working with Dundee and Angus College as it delivers co-ordinated planning and delivery of skills needs in the Tay Cities region.
  • Assisting three UHI Colleges with positioning their proposed merger as a regional economic anchor institution.
