Our goal is not to return to normal, but to create the Next Normal; a place that is better than it was before the pandemic. Our approach towards building back better together can be distilled into our program’s Four Pillars: Safety, Cleanliness, Arts/Activation, & Communication.

Safety Update

We have received a two-year, $8.3M grant to launch and manage a new Community Based Safety Program. The Community Based Safety Program calls for the presence of ambassadors, provided by Urban Alchemy, to be present in the area daily from 7am to 7pm. They engage with residents and visitors with compassion and respect to address safety issues and support cleanliness. There are approximately 50 Urban Alchemy Practitioners deployed throughout Mid-Market and Tenderloin area now with more to come.
