August is Black Philanthropy Month (BPM), a global initiative that amplifies the giving practices from folks of African descent! BPM commemorates Black philanthropic leaders and uplifts African-American forms of giving. This year’s theme for BPM was the Fierce Urgency of Now: From Dream to Action, inspired by a quote from a speech by Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr that reads:
“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there "is" such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.”
Echoing this sentiment, ChildSavers is privileged to partner with individuals and organizations that embody the spirit of urgency, impact, and collective giving in our community.
In honor of BPM, we invite you to become a Childhood Friend! Childhood Friends are special supporters make a monthly or quarterly contribution that ensures our children, families, and child care providers can access ChildSavers’ services year-round.
