Reframing Mental Health in the Workplace

Allowing employees to bring their WHOLE selves to work.

As we head towards the holiday season, mental health is a topic that struck a chord with our team as we listened and reflected on Natasha Bowman's phenomenal breakout session during the Greenville Chamber Diversity & Economic Inclusion Summit.

In her personal journey as a "Mental Health Warrior," Natasha told us the feedback she received when she shared her bipolar diagnoses publicly. While she had an overwhelmingly positive response, she had an equal number who said they wished they could share their own mental health challenges or diagnoses at work. Too many people continue to hide their “full selves” for fear of stigmatization.

In this month's blog, we share specific takeaways from her session + what each of us can do to help reframe the way that we address mental health in the workplace.

Shaw C. (pictured far left)

“I can't recommend Traci Newkirk enough! She truly has the ability to help professionals grow and evolve at any step of their career. When I began, I was discouraged and lost in my job because I felt that it wasn't my purpose in life. Traci led me through a series of tests and exercises, in which she helped me discover my strengths and weaknesses professionally, but also on a personal level. By highlighting how my individuality defined my path, Traci provided me with the tools and guidance to my new job that truly works for me!”

Parks S.

"In a season of self-discovery personally, Traci helped me "peel back the onion" and lean into my talents that can be used instead as strengths. Through a series of one-on-one sessions, I was able to craft a purpose statement that will be at the forefront of my life, whether that be day-to-day, career, family, or life in general [...] As someone who struggled to take the time and money to invest in myself, taking the nudge and meeting with Traci has now allowed me to love those around me so much more."

🌟 That it’s always the right time to focus on myself and the things I love about myself.

🌟 Weakness don’t need to be fixed. Strengths need to be encouraged.

🌟 Everyone in our system is unique and has their own talents to contribute.

We simply love being a part of thriving communities where people believe thinking about what’s right with people is always the answer!
