National Limerick Day
 Greetings!
Greetings! How are you? Every now and again I come across an obscure or unusual National Holiday that piques my proverbial interest. As you might have gathered from the title of this eNewsletter, today is one of those days! According to Merriam-Webster a limerick could be defined as, “a light or humorous verse form of five chiefly anapestic verses of which lines 1, 2, and 5 are of three feet and lines 3 and 4 are of two feet with a rhyme scheme of aabba” (merriam-webster.com). In honor of this special day I would like to offer five original limericks for this fifth month of the year:
We are now in this grand month of May,
To honor Our Lady and to pray,
Through the Rosary with devotion
While on land or in the ocean,
May God’s Grace help us live on each day.
 __________

Four months have already passed by,
My goodness, how the time did fly!
Lots of memories we’ve had,
Both the good and the bad,
The Lord has been with us we cry!
  __________

May twelfth is a day like no other,
To love all as our sister and brother.
Through the Mercy of the Lord
We strive to live in accord
As we ask for the prayers of Our Blessed Mother.
  __________

May flowers have come from gentle April showers,
New life and new vigor from Heavenly powers.
May our souls be the same,
Bearing fruit for His Name,
Through all minutes and through all the hours.
 __________

Where do we find joy in our life,
In the midst of the pain and the strife?
By God’s help from above,
And His Merciful Love,
We sing out and play music on a fife!
Mercy with Christ,

Sundays after the 10:00 am Mass, led by the Council of Catholic Women, and weeknights at 6:00 pm in the church, led by the Knights of Columbus.

I take refuge, then, in prayer, and turn to Mary, and our Lord always triumphs.
