Happy New Year, SUMC! Hope you had a blessed Christmas.
As always, we aim to begin the year with the love of Christ leading us. With that mission in mind, we would like to propose that our church participate in an Epiphany Blessing of Homes. In some parts of the world, there is a custom of gathering in places of residence or work to ask God’s blessing on those dwellings and upon all who live, work, and visit there. A short ceremony is performed, and the dwelling or workplace is marked (usually at the front or main entrance) with sacred signs and symbols. Epiphany commemorates the visiting of the Christ Child by the Magi with their gifts of gold, incense, and myrrh, and this blessing ceremony is linked to that visit.

If this project is of interest to you, we will provide more details and the liturgy. To begin, would you please respond to the following questions? You may email us or call the office to respond: sumc@saladoumc.org or (254)947-5482.

Would you like to have your home blessed?
Would you like to bless the homes of others?
(Also, please include the best way to communicate with you.)

Once we have allowed time for responses and coordination, we will be back in touch with appropriate details.

Thank you for your consideration of this opportunity to be in ministry!
Sincerely, your friend,
David N. Mosser
