COVID-19 Update

QualChoice is committed to the health and well-being of our members. And since the outset of the coronavirus outbreak, we have monitored regulations and guidelines closely to make sure everyone had access to the care they needed. We provided COVID-19 tests, treatment and associated doctor’s visits with no-cost sharing or pre-authorization, throughout the declared Public Health Emergency, which expired May 30, 2021.

Effective June 1, 2021, all telehealth visits and treatment for COVID-19 reverted back to regular cost-sharing amounts. There is still no copay, coinsurance or deductible cost sharing for COVID-19 testing or vaccinations.

QCare Diabetes Management Program
Our Diabetes Management Program provides extra care for members living with diabetes. Eligible members and dependents can take part at no added cost as part of their QualChoice benefits.*

Our registered nurse health coaches give personal support to help members manage their diabetes. This helps reduce related problems and improve their quality of life. Benefits include:
  • Support of health coaches
  • Tips on managing health
  • Lower out-of-pocket costs
  • Consistent, quality care

NOTE: Programs vary by employer group and benefit plan. Members should check with their benefits administrator.
August is Children's Eye Care and Safety Month
As children head back to school, it's important to note that nearly 80% of a child’s learning is acquired through his or her visual system. Studies show that one in four children has a vision problem. Protecting children's eye health is critical to a successful school year.

Eye exams are one of the most important preventative care services available to you. It’s important to be proactive by scheduling regular eye exams. Eye exams aren’t just for correcting vision issues. They are also key in the early detection of systemic diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
