Fiscal Year 2022 Preliminary Budget Now Available Online
The Town Manager's Preliminary Recommended Budget and Financing Plan (a.k.a "the White Book") is now available online for the public's review.

About the Budget Process
The budget process in local government is one of the most cumbersome, yet important, tasks that the community faces annually.

Prioritizing what is distributed, and where, affects everyone within the community. It is important that everyone feels enfranchised in an open and collaborative process.

The production of the budget wouldn't be made possible without the support of every Town department, as well as many elected/appointed boards/committees.

Lexington First Responders Receive First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine
On January 12, under the MA COVID-19 vaccine distribution timeline, Arlington’s Health Department led a regional vaccination clinic at Arlington High School for first responders in Arlington, Belmont, Lexington, and Watertown.

First responders include police, fire, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and support personnel, plus school nurses who are administering vaccinations and/or COVID-19 testing in school populations.

Approximately 600 doses of the Moderna vaccine were administered this week through these regional clinics. The second dose of the vaccines will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

Phase 2 and 3 Vaccine Distribution
At this time, Lexington public health officials only anticipate being involved in Phase 3 (April 2021) of the vaccine distribution to the general public.

For residents in Phase 2, which includes ages 65+, please contact your primary care physician for guidance. The Mass. Dept. of Public Health controls the vaccine distribution, not local health departments.

Town Building Closures Extended Through At Least January 31
Effective Monday, December 14, 2020 and continuing through at least Sunday, January 31, 2021* all Town buildings (with the exception of the Police Station) will be closed to the public.

*This date was extended from January 17 until January 31 based on guidance from public health officials and is subject to be further extended.

Due to rising case numbers across Massachusetts, and for the safety of the public and Town staff, we are no longer able to be open to the public by appointment.

As was the case at the beginning of the pandemic, Town staff who have approval from their Department Head will be working remotely and will continue to provide the same high level of service that our residents and businesses have come to expect. Essential in-person services provided by the Police, Fire, Public Works, and Public Facilities Departments will continue uninterrupted.

A list of online services can be found on our website at LexingtonMA.gov/Online. To get in contact with Town Departments and Staff, a list of contact information is available at LexingtonMA.gov/ContactUs

Library Update
The library's mid-January board meeting has been cancelled. The library will remain in its current service model (virtual services only) until the Board reconvenes in February. At that time we hope to announce a date for restarting our holds pickup service. Thank you for your patience.
