Dear Tuesday's Children families,

As we continue to follow reports of the evolving situation in Afghanistan, we wanted to take a moment to reach out and let you all know that we are here to support you, our families, today and every day. We know that this news impacts our families in the 9/11 and military communities in different ways, and we are hearing reactions ranging from concern to frustration, anger, anxiety and questioning about the consequences of these current events, the past 20 years of war, and the grief our community continues to endure.

Please know that, while we may not have all the answers, we are here for assistance and support should you or your family need us at this time. If you need assistance, please reach out to us, and we will make every effort to help you directly or through our network of partners.

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, here are a list of vital resources:

  • Disaster Distress Helpline, call or text 1-800-985-5990

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (support is available 24 hours in English and Spanish) 1-800-273-8255. For Veterans crisis line, press 1 or text 838255.

Please take care of yourselves, check in with friends and family, and reach out to our staff if you need further resources, or simply someone to listen with an open heart and mind. Our community finds its strength in all of you, in your connections to each other, and our resolve to continue our mission only grows in times of trial and tribulation.

We are with you, always.

Terry Sears and all of us at Tuesday's Children
