children and youth sunday

May 13, 2022

Dear Trinity Families of Children & Youth,

Children & Youth Sunday is this Sunday, May 15th! It's a beautiful Sunday where the children get to experience the many ministry possibilities being a part of a church community offers. Please bring your children to the children's building as close to 9am as you can to give the children time to prepare in anticipation for their role in the 10am worship service.

Children in Level 1 will be in their atrium until just before the offertory at which time they'll join the service and bring bouquets of flowers to the altar with the offertory plates.

*If your family plans to attend the May 15th 10am worship service and we haven't connected about which ministry your child(ren) wants to shadow, please reach out to me by email, dsmall@trinitysb.org.

Also for your consideration...Sign-ups to help with Summer Sacred Arts is now out during coffee hour. During the summer, the children do not have CGS (to give our catechists a well-deserved break!) and during the 10am worship service, volunteers lead the children through art-making projects (and we take that liberally; we've had everything from dance to the sciences to church history!). Perhaps you have a craft you'd like to share, or you'd like to volunteer that day as a helper.

Also, a Youth Group Game Night tonight is cancelled. Some of our incoming 7th graders were unavailable so we'll postpone until June when we can do a proper welcome.

Please see below for future offerings and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Peace and thanks,

Diana Small

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)

May 15 - Children & Youth Sunday

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program begins as early as 9am. Please arrive as close to 9am as possible so that children have time to prepare for the 10am service where they will shadow the adults serving during the liturgy.

Level 1 children are invited to bring a bouquet of flowers that morning to place on the altar during the offertory.

If your children plan to attend church on Sunday and you have not heard from Diana Small about how your child is participating, please email her at dsmall@trinitysb.org

In the children's building, we host children who are too young to receive vaccinations. For this reason, we require that all people (children and adults) wear masks when in the children's building.

Registration for CGS children, age 3 through 6th grade is here.

Youth Group

May 15

We'll meet on the labyrinth lawn during coffee hour to hang out and connect with each other.

Registration for youth group, grades 7th - 12th, is here.

Honor our Graduating Seniors

Liam Hess and Izzy Sweda

Coffee Hours, May 15 - 29

Bibles and notepads will be on a table at coffee hour for parishioners to write notes of encouragement to place in the bibles of Trinity's two graduating seniors, Liam Hess and Izzy Sweda.

Volunteer Opportunity

Summer Sacred Arts

Diana Small, Director of Children and Youth, is gathering volunteers to work with children in the Parish Hall for Summer Sacred arts every Sunday in summer during the 10am service, starting June 12.

Volunteers would need to arrive by 9:45am and assist helping the children that hour. Activity leaders are also needed. Perhaps you have a creative project to share with the children (visual art, music, sciences, anything creative that piques the spiritual curiosity of the child). A sign-up sheet will be at coffee hour on Sundays or email Diana at dsmall@trinitysb.org if you are interested.
