AURP: "What's a cool, new research parks project you're working on?"

Tom Osha: "As research parks continue to evolve, Wexford is adding additional innovation elements, including Connect Labs by Wexford, our flexible built-out and furnished lab and support spaces, including our Core Lab with specialized shared equipment. Connect Labs offers a scale-in-place experience for innovative companies, entrepreneurs, and researchers. In January, Wexford opened its inaugural location at 850 PBC in the Phoenix Bioscience Core, and we are currently in development on our next 3 locations. Connect Labs by Wexford will continue to be offered as an element within Wexford’s future Knowledge Communities."

The Public Relations Society of America West Virginia Chapter has recognized the West Virginia Regional Technology Park (WVRTP) with the "Best of West Virginia" bronze award for its October 2022 Red Carpet Tour of West Virginia event. WVRTP hosted 20 global business executives and site selectors during this 3-day economic development event. With over 25 companies, the WVRTP is driven by a mission to bolster West Virginia's economy by nurturing research, innovation, technological advancement and education. Read more.

The Ohio State University has appointed Peter Mohler, PhD, as Executive Vice President of Research, Innovation and Knowledge. Under Dr. Mohler’s leadership, annual research and development expenditures at Ohio State increased by double digits in fiscal year (FY) 2022 and set a new university record. Mohler, who has been serving as the interim Executive VP since March, recently opened the university’s new Pelotonia Research Center. Read more.

San Diego State University researchers have garnered a record $192.2 million in funding in 2022-23. Industry-leading initiatives set to occupy space at the SDSU Mission Valley Innovation District – such as Techstars San Diego Powered by SDSU and the newly formed SDSU Center for Community Energy and Environmental Justice – have received an influx of this research-based funding. Whiting-Turner (WT), the general contractor for the first three buildings at UC Davis's Aggie Square, and Wexford Science + Technology, the Aggie Square developer, recently delivered an educational program to students at The Language Academy of Sacramento, a K-8 Spanish-English bilingual charter school next door to the Aggie Square site. The WT and Wexford teams shared updates with the students about the work taking place on the other side of the school's fence. Read more.
