Greetings families,
We are heartbroken to share with you that our precious student, Addisyn Trujillo, passed away on the morning of Sunday, August 8. Those of us who had the privilege to know her remember her as a child filled with joy, good humor, and perseverance. She exemplified all that which we seek to instill in our students, a loving spirit and a great heart. Our hearts and prayers are with her family as they are grieving and mourning this unthinkable loss.
We have been in touch with her family, and we have their blessing to hold a candlelight vigil in Addisyn’s honor this Friday, August 20 at 8pm. During this time we will convene on the East side of the campus and hold a service for her at the garden. We will remember her together, and allow those touched by her to share what is on their heart and the memories of how Addisyn impacted their lives. We also plan to dedicate the “Perseverance” bench in her honor, commissioning a plaque to commemorate the graceful and courageous way that Addisyn demonstrated this virtue, to the very end.
Additionally, we are asking those in attendance if they can wear something pink, in memory of Addy’s favorite color.
If you plan to be in attendance, please arrive at prior to 7:45pm, as we will plan to begin at 8:00pm. We have coordinated with McLane trucking across the street to have additional parking. You may also park on the West side of the campus, but we will be blocking off the East parking lot to make space for the vigil. Please plan for this to be a standing event. We will also be providing candles for the ceremony.
Those close to her have put together a fundraising account to support the family at this time. I have attached this information below. Please feel free to pass this along to anyone who may want to help support the Trujillo family.
Please continue to keep Addy’s family, and those impacted by her lost, in our prayer. We pray and hope that this Friday’s service will be one small step towards honoring her memory and lifting up her family during this time.
If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
With Grief,
