Residents experiencing street light issues, potholes, sanitation concerns or any other non-emergency issues are encouraged to download the new ONEClick Forest Park app that allows individuals to easily report quality-of-life concerns and request assistance – all from the palm of their hand. Additional issues that can be reported via the app include potential code enforcement violations, downed trees, damaged street signs, park maintenance requests and more. 


Visit the Apple and Google Play app stores to download the ONEClick app today. Individuals who do not own a smartphone or tablet can also visit the online ONEClick Request Portal to create an account and submit requests for service.

Fire Department Hosts Inaugural Girls' Future Firefighter Camp

Guess which fire department was featured on FOX5 Atlanta? Here's a full recap of our inaugural all-girls firefighter camp. Forest Park Fire Chief Latosha Clemons spearheaded this initiative with the goal of inspiring and recruiting the next generation of female firefighters. The camp was led by several successful female fire professionals and covered a variety of topics, including the history of the fire service, CPR, first aid, fire safety tips and above all, teamwork. The department would like to thank our guest clinician, Ret. Battalion Chief Lisa Baker, as well as special guests Forest Park Mayor Angelyne Butler, MPA, and Rockdale Fire Rescue Chief Marian McDaniel, for their incredible support and inspiring words of encouragement.

Feedback Wanted On City's Draft 2023 Comprehensive Plan Update

One of the fundamental responsibilities of local government is planning. Updating the city's comprehensive plan gives our community the opportunity to look beyond the execution of day-to-day services and consider where they want to be in the next five years. as well as what has to be done to get there. Key topics that are covered in the comprehensive plan include:


  • Community Goals 
  • Future Land Use 
  • Economic development 
  • Housing 
  • Transportation 
  • Broadband 
  • Community Work Program


Residents are encouraged to review the city's DRAFT comprehensive plan, and feedback is welcomed. The final presentation to Mayor & City Council will be at their Dec. 4 meeting. To view the plan or for more information, click here.

Reminder: City of Forest Park 2023 Property Tax Bills

A friendly reminder that the city's Finance Department expects to publish 2023 property tax bills on Nov. 20, 2023. Property tax payments may be mailed to the City of Forest Park, P.O. Box 69, Forest Park, Georgia 30298. Payments may also be made in person at City Hall, 745 Forest Parkway, during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday). The city accepts cash, check, money order or credit card payments. Customers may also remit payment via our online portal at www.forestparkpmts.com. For questions regarding property taxes, contact Leigh Corley, Tax Clerk, at lcorley@forestparkga.gov.

Forest Park Police Deploying ShotSpotter To Help Combat Gun Violence

The Forest Park Police Department announced plans to deploy the gunshot detection system ShotSpotter in several areas throughout the city in an effort to help combat gun violence. By using this innovative technology, public safety alerts will be generated and sent to law enforcement personnel within 60 seconds of a trigger pull, who are then notified when and where gun incidents occur.


Owned and developed by SoundThinking Inc., ShotSpotter provides a fast, precise response to gun-related incidents in order to help save the lives of gunshot wound victims and find critical evidence during an investigation. The platform, which is currently being used in cities like Denver, Columbus, Ohio, and Bakersfield, Calif., was approved for implementation by the Forest Park City Council and would be the first of its kind in metro Atlanta. To learn more about ShotSpotter, click here.

Employee Spotlight: Kimone Trawick, Human Resources Generalist

Meet the Forest Park team! This month's Employee Spotlight features Kimone Trawick, who serves as a Human Resources Specialist within the city's Human Resources Department. Kimone has been with the City of Forest Park for more than 3 years and has worked in local government for 16 years. Her duties include recruitment, employee onboarding, job classifications, HR policy development and more. The best part of her job, Kimone says, is being able to create a positive impact in the workplace, improving employee well-being and assisting the city with achieving its strategic goals.

Annual Fall Festival Features Spooky Costumes & Tons of Family Fun

Starr Park was PACKED with hundreds of attendees for the city's annual Fall Festival. There were plenty of awesome costumes, performances, food trucks and, of course, tons of Halloween candy for the kiddos! Thanks to everyone who came out for a great time!

Movie Documentary Helps Educate Residents On Sickle Cell Disease

Councilman Dabouze Antoine (Ward 2), members of the MTS Sickle Cell Foundation, Inc. and several Forest Park residents attended the movie screening of Spilled Milk, a documentary about the impacts of Sickle Cell Disease. Approximately 100,000 Americans have Sickle Cell Disease that can cause acute, chronic pain and serious health complications, including infections, strokes, organ damage, vision problems and serious fatigue. Reminder: Prepare Your Home For Winter Weather

During extreme low temperatures, the Clayton County Water Authority is reminding residents to winterize your pipes in order to prevent freezing. Insulate exposed pipes, disconnect outdoor hoses, and seal any cracks. Don't forget to set your thermostat to a stable temperature. Let's all do our part to stay warm and worry-free this winter. Longtime City Employee Retires After More Than 50 Years Of Service

It's never easy to say goodbye. The City of Forest Park congratulates longtime employee William Ross on his official retirement after more than 50 years of service. Mr. Ross was first hired by the city in 1966 and has held several positions within the Public Works Department, including laborer, refuse collector, truck driver and maintenance worker. For decades, Mr. Ross played an integral role when it came to creating, cleaning and installing city signage near local right of ways, as well as helping to maintain streets used by local commuters and pedestrians. During their Nov. 6 meeting, Mayor Butler, MPA, and members of the governing body officially presented Mr. Ross with the "Key To The City."
