Dear Saints Families and Friends,

"Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.”

-Alexander Graham Bell

Greetings from Berks Catholic! We are ready! We are prepared for the new school year. We are so excited to greet your children next week as we begin the 2023-2024 school year. The staff spent the past week in preparation for their arrival.

As we put the finishing touches on the building, make one last photocopy and organize our classrooms, please know how grateful we are. The trust you place in us as your partners in education is never taken for granted. We are humbled by this trust and understand that you give us each day what is most precious to you – your children. We promise to work hard and always have your child’s best interests at heart.

Let the fun begin on Monday with the Freshmen and then the upperclassmen on Tuesday! Have a great weekend!

It’s a great day to be a Saint!

Let Us Pray…

  • For our faithful alumni who have supported Berks Catholic since its beginning and, now into our 13th year.

  • For those who have left in the aftermath of the terrible fires in Hawaii, may God grant them healing and quick recovery as they rebuild their cities and their lives.

Kudos

Welcome to new BC staff members who join the Saints family: Mrs. Maureen Cranley (Spanish).

Thank you to those alumni, parents and friends of BC, who joined us for the Extravaganza Kick-Off Party last Friday and donated gifts to be used for the event.

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for the first annual Fall Sports Media Day. It was a great evening celebrating our fall student-athletes and building community among our families. Thank you to Mr. Hess and the Athletic Department for organizing the event.

Congratulations to the following teachers who won the Staff Scavenger Hunt ice breaker during Faculty Orientation: Mrs. Bobb, Ms. Davis, Mr. Kuhns and Mrs. Mikucki. They each won a Wawa gift card.

News from the Dean of Students

Here are a few reminders from Mr. Ricco, Dean of Students:

As we continue to make an effort to keep our students safe, we would like your help and support at home to talk to your child about the dangers of vaping. In December of 2022, the FDA reported that 14.1% of high school students reported that they currently vape. However, that statistic is almost certainly higher, and we need to work together to make sure that pandemic does not continue to spread. The administration, faculty, and staff will be diligently monitoring this activity throughout the school year to ensure we have a safe and healthy environment for our entire BC family. Please take the time to talk to your child about the dangers of vaping. Feel free to use the linked article as a source of information and assistance as you embark on this difficult but very important topic. https://drugfree.org/drugs/vaping/
