Dear DMA Giraffe Nation,
Week three, here we come! Every year the, primary-aged children (aged 6-12) are retold The 5 Great Lessons (or Cosmic Education as Maria Montessori called it). But what are they? The Great Lessons are one of the most important teaching structures used in the primary years. The lessons underpin the curriculum and lay the pathway for the children to learn about the concepts of evolution, creative thinking, exploration, experimentation, science, understanding their place in the world and the circle of life, and much more. We are so excited to spark our student's learning journey with this amazing opportunity taking place this week. Click on the "Week-at-a-glance" section to know your schedule.
As we settle into the rhythm of the academic year, let us continue to uphold the values that define our school and our community: love, respect, equity, excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
We will be streamlining our Arrival and Dismissal protocols. Starting this week with the arrival. All students will enter the UNT stairwell door off of Main St. at 7:15 a.m. instead of the DMA stairwell door. We will have DMA faculty escorts and personnel standing at the door we will now use.
I invite everyone to share their feedback and suggestions in the spirit of continuous improvement. Our collective insights are invaluable in making our school stronger and better.
Here's to a week filled with new discoveries, meaningful connections, and the joy of learning. Let's make Week 3 truly outstanding —together as we Make A TALL Difference Every Day with Every Child!
