Sixty Seconds with the Superintendent

Each week, we receive questions for the Superintendent from students in pre-K through 12th grade. In this video series, Ms. Beamon will answer these questions and help our families and the community we serve get to know the leader of our public schools.

Bear Lake Elementary Celebrates 60th Birthday!

Earlier this week, Bear Lake Elementary welcomed current and past students, staff, and teachers to help celebrate the school's 60th birthday! Yearbooks from 1962 to present day were on display as well as items from a time capsule that was buried in 2000. Culinary students from Lake Howell High School participated in the fun by preparing a special cake for the occasion!

Casselberry Elementary Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Casselberry Elementary celebrated their campus renovation with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. Among the special guests were retired teachers from Casselberry and recently retired school board member Karen Almond, a true "panda" at heart delivered heartfelt remarks about the amazing community at Casselberry.

Guests were treated to a tour of the campus by fifth grade safety patrol students. One of the highlights was hearing the great classroom cheers and chants that clearly demonstrate the school spirit.

An added surprise occurred when retired school board member Tina Calderone was reunited with students she visited as Kindergartners when she played the tooth fairy. The Principal gathered those same students who are now in 5th grade and have the photos to prove how much they have grown! It was a wonderful day to celebrate a school with a tremendous sense of community.

Classes shared their songs and chants that get them ready for their school days or the big test.

Dr. Tina Calderone visited this Kindergarten class as the tooth fairy several years ago and was delighted and surprised when the Principal arranged a reunion.
