This show was incredibly competitive, with not only over 2,200 entries by 675 artists, but the exceptionally high overall quality of the work. Our thanks to jurors Emily Larsen, Monika Meler, and Mary Williams!

Spring Online Show Jurors Announced

AWA is pleased to introduce our three jurors who will be selecting the finalists for the 2021 Spring Online Juried Show! AWA Master-Signature Member Diana Reuter-Twining and Signature Member Claudia Seymour will serve as selection jurors, while Kelly Kane will be a selection and awards juror. From the Jurors' Prospective

With more than 2,200 works entered in AWA's Lifting the Sky online show, our jurors Emily Larsen, Monika Meler, and Mary Williams had a big task of selecting the 150 finalists. All three jurors were highly impressed with the artwork created by women artists across the US and Canada!

We asked the jurors to share their criteria for jurying the show. Click the link below to learn more about what they looked for as they scored entries.

Feeling the Jurying Blues?

Year over year AWA's shows have become increasingly competitive. In fact, Lifting the Sky received a record number of entries! The quality of work entered was phenomenal, which made it challenging for our jurors to narrow it down to 150 works.

AWA's exhibitions are competitive and meaningful. We know it's discouraging to not have your work selected for a show but we hope you will continue to be inspired to compete. Artists are entering their best works and the outstanding awards given by donors and galleries nationwide reflect this excellence.

Upcoming exhibition opportunities include our annual Spring Online Show for Associate and Associate with Distinction Members (application deadline is March 15), as well as two museum shows in 2021. Entries for the first 2021 museum show at the Custom's House Museum in TN open this year in September.

Your valued membership and AWA's exhibitions continue to bring attention to our mission to CelebrateInspire, and Encourage women in the visual fine arts.
