AND LOCKER SELECTION FOR ALL STUDENTS

Students should arrive during the following times:

Juniors 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
(closed between 11:00-noon)

*Please note, students do not need to arrive at the start of their time but do need to arrive within their assigned two-hour window.

Students will be able to review their schedules THE MORNING OF AUGUST 17 via their Aeries account. Students are asked to either print their schedules or have them accessible on their phone/portable device in order to make Textbook pick up faster. There will be a station to print schedules on campus for those unable to do either of the above. Students must be in line for textbooks by 3:30pm in order to pick up their books that day. Freshmen who are unable to pick up their books on Tuesday will have the opportunity to pick up their books after Orientation on Thursday (8/19)

*Please see the counseling section of this newsletter (below) or
the website for further details on schedule change requests.

Students will enter campus through the Gym. At this time, regardless of vaccination status, ALL students must wear a mask while indoors on campus. All students will also be asked to complete a screener prior to entering the Gym and will need to show the "green screen" to staff. The screener can be found at HTTP://SCREENER.PVPUSD.NET . Students can either show the green screen on their phone via the website, screenshot, or photo OR staff will be available to ask the questions orally. Do not send your student if they answer YES to any of the questions.

Parents will not be allowed on campus. However, the Student Store, PTSA, and Athletic Booster Club will have Peninsula High merchandise for sale in the Gym parking lot for parents/students to shop while they wait! See the Registration packet linked above for a sneak peek at the merchandise!

Students will also be selecting their lockers on this day. No students will be allowed on campus before their designated time. All students coming on campus that day must enter through the Gym and follow procedures. Any locks found on lockers before the designated time will be cut off. Locks will be available for purchase on campus at the Student Store.

Students who are unable to attend during their designated time must attend Late Picture Day/ Textbook Pick-up on the first day of school, Wed. August 25th from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (all grades). More information to follow.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 19: FRESHMEN AND
TRANSFER STUDENT ORIENTATION

PVPHS Link Crew is excited to be able to offer TWO orientation programs this year: our usual one for freshmen and transfers on Thursday, August 19th, and an added re-orientation program for our sophomores on Friday, August 20th! These orientations will help make the transition to PVPHS a positive experience. Juniors and Seniors will serve as mentors and leaders to incoming students, and large and small group activities are designed to address needs and concerns in a fun and memorable way. Student drop off is in front of the gym similar to Picture/Textbook Day. Some activities will be outside so prepare accordingly (i.e. water, hat, sunscreen, etc). While masks are not required outdoors at this time, all students must bring a mask for the planned indoor small group activities. See further below for details!
FRIDAY, AUGUST 20: SOPHOMORE RE-ORIENTATION
And after all that... rest up for the first day of school Wednesday, August 25!
Program Change Forms

Schedules will be visible on Aeries the morning of August 17th. If after viewing your schedule you wish to speak to your counselor regarding your classes, you will need to fill out one of the forms listed below (link to form by clicking on the counselor's name under the correct grade). One class that you will notice on your schedule that is not actually a class is a 9th period "Pathways" grade level class. This exists on all schedules as it links you to your counselor, by grade level in Aeries and in Teams. This has been a helpful way for counselors to communicate with students during the school year.

These forms will only be accessible at the assigned time. You will not be able to use the form before or after that time. Student requests will be addressed in the order they were received. On the form you will be asked whether you want to meet virtually, by phone, in an e-mail, or in person. Any student that is on campus and comes to the counseling office, will still complete the form, and their request will be handled in the order it was submitted.
