CDPH Launches "Let's Get to ImmUnity" Campaign to Boost COVID-19 Vaccine Acceptance
The "Let's Get to ImmUnity" integrated media campaign is one part of the state's Five Part Plan for Vaccination Equity. The goal is to offer answers and reassurance that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and our greatest tool to end the pandemic and move all of our lives forward again. The campaign is part of a broader effort that includes radio, print, TV and billboards, with a focus on multicultural and multilingual media outlets.

The effort will also include digital advertising, including native advertising, search, paid social media advertising on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and an influencer campaign on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube focused on doctors, nurses and other health professionals educating people on the safety and efficacy of vaccines. Non-health influencers will also be included to appeal to a wide range of Californians, with an emphasis on communities with high levels of hesitancy.

"Let's Get to ImmUnity" radio ads have been running in multiple languages since the second week of March. The first TV ads will begin airing in English and Spanish on Friday, March 26.
My Turn is where Californians can find out if you are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination, schedule appointments, and sign up for notifications.
California introduced the statewide program to answer two simple questions: Is it My Turn? If it isn’t my turn now, can you notify me of when it is My Turn? As part of the state’s efforts to equitably and efficiently distribute vaccinations, the website includes translations in 12 languages:

Armenian, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

Those without internet or email access can call the COVID-19 Hotline at 1-833-422-4255 (833-4CA-4ALL) to assist with My Turn registration, which includes an extensive language support center with the ability to add a third party translator for another 250+ languages.

Busting Myths with the Facts
Over 109 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from 12/14/20 - 3/15/21. During this time, VAERS received 1,913 reports of death (0.0018%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine.

A review of available clinical information including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records revealed no evidence that vaccination contributed to patient deaths.
"Among the more than 30,000 pregnant women who had taken the vaccine by Feb. 16, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found no safety problems, no evidence that miscarriages, stillbirths, preterm births, or other problems were more common among vaccinated women than among the unvaccinated. In animal studies, all three vaccines were found safe for pregnant mammals. Studies in people are under way."

This month, La Clinica de La Raza began offering interpreter services at 32 locations across the Bay Area, where Latinos who speak Mam, K’iche ‘and Q’eqchi’ can get translation help from appointment to inoculation on Thursdays.
