A select group of our donor advisors support business development and business owners for the purpose of adding quality of life with a DEIJ strategy. These donors grants support local LMI (low and moderate income), women, and BIPOC business owners and employers. Two recent grant examples:
To repurpose pandemic era grant through Alternatives Impact known as the Community Assistance Loan Fund (CALF) Loan Loss Reserves was no longer needed. Alternatives Impact requested to re-purpose the funds to put towards their Financial Education training and programming. Now more community members, small businesses, and partner organizations have the tools to build wealth through access to education and resources designed to build healthy, thriving communities with financial freedom.
To support Tompkins Chamber Foundation's Tompkins County Microenterprise Assistance Program, this grants key components support Tompkins County microenterprises in establishing their businesses and helping them thrive: Entrepreneurial Education, Technical Assistance & Resource, and grant funding.
Both of these grants are because of the generosity of the Myrtle Dee Nash Fund, a donor advisor fund at Community Foundation.
