International Women's Day Summit
IAWF is pleased to be a participating organization in Visionary Women’s 2021 International Women’s Day Virtual Summit. The Summit will be a virtual 90-minute program featuring some of the world’s leading female voices.
The Summit will present 3 panel conversations discussing hope, peace building and equity. Speakers include Nobel Peace Laureates Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkol Karman; Jacqueline Novogratz and Pat Mitchell; and former US Secretaries of State Condoleezza Rice and Madeleine Albright. Join us in supporting The Midnight Mission to help those in need with a night of laughter, LIVE at The Laugh Factory, a virtual comedy event. Circle of Visionaries Spotlight: Laya Khadjavi
Laya Khadjavi is a seasoned finance executive, currently working as an independent adviser to emerging asset management firms and non-profit organizations. She is a non-executive board member of GoldenTree ABS Management. From 2012 to 2016, Laya was COO, Head of Strategy and Business Development at ICE Canyon, a global investment management firm specializing in Emerging Markets. Prior to ICE Canyon, Laya was Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where she held a succession of senior management positions, including: Global Head of Markets Group in Global Wealth Management, Global Head of Collateralized Debt Obligations, and Co-Head of North America Finance Group. Laya began her career at Salomon Brothers. Laya is Co-Chair of Brown University’s Women’s Leadership Council and a member of its Middle East Studies’ Council. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of International Education and is a member of the Board of Advisors of IAWF. She is also a member of the Department of Ancient Near Eastern Art Visiting Committee at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2008, Laya received The Ellis Island Medal of Honor Award. Laya holds a BS in Applied Mathematics-Economics and a BA in French Literature from Brown University and an MBA from Columbia University. Laya has spearheaded our New York Mentorship to Internship program, and we are so grateful for her leadership and support.
