Lucky to Have This ARPS Community! |
Here at Aspen Ridge, we are the LUCKIEST to have a team of passionate teachers and staff members; a community of actively involved parents; an engaged and dedicated Board; and a building full of thriving Owls, who are the "why" behind what we all do.
We'd love to send a big thank you to the many families who participated in the Kids Heart Challenge last month! We exceeded our goal and raised $14,665 for the American Heart Association - and even more importantly, many of our families learned the life-saving skill of hands-only CPR. All students who raised $100 or more will soon be silly stringing Mr. Zuppas, and all students who raised $150 or more will also be silly stringing...MS. MILLER! Stay tuned for details on when and where the fun will happen!
We have lots to share in this March newsletter. Thank you for taking the time to read through and stay up to date on all that's happening at ARPS!

Plus, several restaurants in Old Town are donating proceeds from the night to all participating schools, divided evenly. So you can stroll through the luminaries and dine out to donate, as well! A Note from Our Principal | |
Hello, Owl Families!
It's hard to believe that March is here, spring is approaching, and we are about to enter the fourth quarter! In the weeks leading up to Spring Break, our Owls will show their "madness" for reading, practice the mindset of Live to Give, demonstrate hope and gratitude, and continue to SOAR academically, socially, and emotionally.
Speaking of SOARing, I wanted to take a moment to remind our families of the cell phone policy that is listed in our Parent & Student Handbook.
Students are permitted to bring their cell phones to school, as long as they remain turned off and out of sight while on campus. If a student needs a phone while on campus, they may use the phone located in the classroom or the main office. Cell phones are not permitted to be used on campus. Use of cellular service to access the internet or bypass the content filters is prohibited. Students at ARPS are not permitted to bring any electronic devices to school without written permission from a teacher or administrator.
The consequences of noncompliance of electronic devices and cell phones are listed in the Parent & Student Handbook.
While cell phones have become a necessary part of our daily lives, they are not a necessary part of student life at school. Here is a great article that illustrates the importance of establishing phone-free classrooms. Thank you for supporting us in this effort by reminding your children that their phones are to remain off and out of sight throughout the school day.
As the weeks become busier and the weather warms up (hopefully), we look forward to Spring Break, a time to rest, rejuvenate, have some fun, and come back ready to finish the year strong! The month of March is known for bringing luck, but we're lucky all year long to be part of a community that comes together to provide our students with the skills and confidence to succeed in the classroom and in our community every day.
Warmly,
Rachel Miller
Principal
