It’s hard to believe that we recently passed the one-year mark of the issuing of our local emergency activation order for the COVID-19 pandemic. We are now on day 374 and I am proud of Orange County’s steady and continued progress to combat the virus. We are making remarkable progress, over 15% of all Orange County residents have now received at least one shot. But that doesn’t mean the coronavirus is not a threat. There have been a reported 120,183 COVID-19 cases in Orange County. 1,161 residents have died from the coronavirus.

Asian Pacific American Coalition Vigil
With more than 40 years in public service and as Orange County Mayor, it has always been my solemn commitment to work with community leaders in addressing inequality. After meeting with Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) groups and staff, I know they are experiencing frustration and grief from the violent acts in Georgia and around the country; yet, these sentiments are underscored by an overwhelming need to achieve justice for all people.
I appreciate all of your hard work. Keep up the good work and let’s make this a great week.
