The Waynesville R-VI School District (WSD) hosted a statewide kickoff for Month of the Military Child on April 6th. First Lady Teresa Parson expressed her appreciation for military families and presented the Governor’s Resolution declaring April as the Month of the Military Child. In addition, Dr. Margie Vandeven, Missouri Commissioner of Education and MIC3 Commissioner, Dr. Brian Henry, highlighted the importance of supporting military kids. WSD students, Malia Shirley and Anthony Esguerra, shared the challenges of continually moving schools, while Wood Elementary fifth graders from Ms. Jenna McCann’s class led the Pledge of Allegiance and presented dignitaries with Month of the Military Child artwork from throughout the district.
