CHRISTMAS CANDLELIGHT SERVICE

DECEMBER 24 | 6:00 PM

Come celebrate Jesus’ birth with us at our Christmas Candlelight Service on Friday, December 24 at 6:00 pm. This is always one of the highlights of our church year as we sing Christmas carols, hear a special message for kids (and one for grown-ups too!), and light candles together, symbolizing the light that Jesus brings. Come early and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies! The service will also be available for streaming beginning at 6:00 pm on December 24 at vrbc.net.

LEADERSHIP AFFIRMATION VOTE

SUNDAY | DECEMBER 19 

One of the blessings of being a part of a congregationally led church is the opportunity to select the individuals who will serve as leaders of the church. Each year, the Ministry Placement Team prayerfully selects a slate of leaders to serve on a variety of teams and committees based on nominations from church staff, current leaders, and the congregation. Then, the members of the congregation have the opportunity to affirm the work of the Ministry Placement team through a church vote.

The vote to approve or not approve the proposed leaders for 2022 will be held this Sunday, December 19, from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Beginning Sunday morning at 8:00 am, you can find a listing of the nominated leaders and a ballot online at vrbc.net/vote, or on a hard copy in the church lobby following the worship service.

VRBC CHRISTMAS STORE 2021

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We are so thankful we were able to host our 22nd Christmas Store this past weekend. With tons of volunteers, and your financial support, we were able to bless 319 families with 951 children from our community and Cornerstone in South Dallas.

We had more than 400 volunteers serving this year, working hard over the last week helping to prepare the Christmas Store. This past Saturday, 524 bags of toys, clothes, and gift cards for groceries were delivered and blessed hundreds of people from our local community and from south Dallas! To watch a recap video from the big event, click here.

VRBC WOMEN'S RETREAT:

ENNEAGRAM WORKSHOP

SATURDAY | JANUARY 8 | 9:00 AM TO 4:00 PM

Join the VRBC Women's Ministry and guest speaker Lisa M. Hancock, M.A., as we learn more about the woman God made you to be through participating in an Enneagram Workshop.

The Enneagram is a personality typing system that can profoundly deepen your understanding of and love for yourself, others, and God. Many Christians have found that the Enneagram, like personality tests and spiritual gift inventories, can provide a helpful perspective on seeing how God has "wired" us and how we can best serve God and love others well.

More than just new information about your personality, the Enneagram can open up powerful possibilities for deep spiritual transformation, and can assist in our walk with God, enable our true and best self to emerge, and can change the way we relate to others. PARENTING CONFERENCE

FEBRUARY 5, 2022 | 9:00 AM TO 12:00 PM

Parenting in today's world is a real challenge! We want to resource parents to raise kids well and build strong families. Hear from expert Dr. Shelly Melia about the crucial role parents play in raising children and students. Even if your kids are already teenagers, it's not too late! We have lots of helpful content for you to run the race well and to finish strong. In our breakout sessions (below), we will tackle tough topics like talking to your kids about sex, raising good stewards, parenting in the digital age, coping with pressure, and more! VALLEY MISSION TRIP | MARCH 12-17

FAMILY TRIP | KIDS ARE WELCOME

VRBC is partnering with UBC Houston, Buckner's Family Hope Center, and E3 Partners to build a home for a family in the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas. We will also be partnering with our new church planters, Felipe and Perla DeLeon, for worship and outreach, children’s ministry, organizing a family event to engage the community, as well as sharing the love of God in the local community. We will need people with experience in construction, electrical, plumbing, and other homebuilding skills, as well as those who are just willing to work! Spanish speakers are also needed to either translate or train.
