Greetings to all of our Presentation Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! It was great to have almost everyone back in school this past week. The excitement to be back in school could be heard in the conversations in the hallway and seen in both the student's and teacher's eyes. They all truly love coming to school and being here together. It’s not often at a school that a teacher or even the principal gets asked by a student: “How are you doing? Or How was your spring break?” We have such a special community. We are so blessed.
A huge thank you to everyone for keeping our school safe after spring break! Thank you to those of you who have sent in extra face masks and disinfectant wipes. We appreciate those who quarantined at home after traveling, were exposed to someone with COVID, or was under the weather and stayed home. We currently have two families that have members in the household with COVID. All were exposed over break and have not impacted our learning model of in-person learning. Please continue to pray for the health and well being of our school families and staff.
This past week our staff was introduced to the new social emotional learning program Friendzy (https://www.friendzy.co/ ). This program teaches 5 core competencies: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, social-awareness, and relationship building. Our students come to school with two backpacks, one with books for school, the other is invisible and filled with emotions. We at Presentation teach the whole child - body, mind and spirit. The teachers and staff will spend the next few weeks getting familiar with the program and will start implementing parts of it. Each month will have a theme. We will share with all of you the monthly theme and ways for you to support your child at home.
The new Amplify Science program (https://amplify.com/programs/amplify-science/) for Middle School was also purchased and will be launched after Easter. Ms. Prahl is so excited for this new program that will allow our students to take a deeper dive into the topics they will be learning. Amplify Science was developed by science education experts from UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science. It’s based on standards and incorporates the current best practices in teaching science.
The window for existing families to apply for Financial Aid closed Friday, March 19th. We will be reviewing financial aid applications the next few weeks as we also prepare our budget for the 2021-2022 school year. Currently we have 72 students enrolled which is a lot better than last year at this time (55 students). Please let us know if you have any questions or need help with registration.
Summer is just around the corner and we have a lot of fun things planned. Summer Day Camp, Sport Camps, a summer theater production, Fun Days in the Parks on Wednesdays, 3-4 on campus events, Ramsey County Fair, parades, Sunday Family Fun Days, and more. Watch for more information and ways you can get involved. There are a lot of exciting things happening - and more to come!
Thank you for all your prayers and support in making Presentation a great place for kids to grow and learn with the spirit of God woven in all throughout their day, we are great because of you.
Get out and enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!
Blessings to you and your family,
Sue Lovegreen, Principal
