The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has created a new agricultural energy efficiency rebate program to help agricultural producers in the Commonwealth reduce energy consumption on their farms through the use of energy efficient technologies.
 
Rebates will pay 50% of equipment costs, up to $2,000 per technology category. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis as funding remains available or through June 30, 2022. Learn more.

The Pennsylvania Manufacturing Advisory Council was formed last year as a public-private consortium. Its goal is to provide the Commonwealth with policy, program and legislative priority recommendations that will enhance the competitiveness of Pennsylvania’s nearly 15,000 manufacturing firms and their 585,000 employees. The Council has heard from more than 130 PA-based manufacturers through roundtables, town halls and other venues and now wants to hear from other manufacturing leaders through their completion of a short survey.

In partnership with the PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship, Ben Franklin Technology Partners is looking for innovators with BIG IDEAS located in Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, or Jefferson County, PA. They’re looking for entrepreneurs who are developing or crafting a product, process or innovation related to the maker economy, outdoors and recreation, forest products, manufacturing and technology. Additionally, the Manufacturing Intern Program provides $2,500 grants to any manufacturer that hires an intern that supports their business. Learn more.

A new $2.13 million endowment will expand Penn State Behrend’s Innovation Commons, a product design and prototyping lab and the first site for the Northwest Pennsylvania Innovation Beehive Network, a partnership of institutions in the Erie region. Read more.
