Dean's Update: Organizing for Data Management
The first day of spring this year marked the start of a new division in the Libraries: Data and Digital Stewardship. The work of this division will enable faculty, graduate students and others to spend less time managing the output of their research to meet requirements of funders and enhance best practices of modern scholarship.  This new division will focus efforts to ensure that research data and digital resources are preserved, organized, discoverable and accessible.

Free Textbooks and Other Benefits of OER
Open Educational Resources, OER, is a popular topic in the educational press right now.  But what is OER?  Who is producing OER and where can they be found?  What institutions are using OER and what kind of impact are they measuring? Adoption and use of OER can save students the expense of traditional textbooks while still providing the course content needed for successful learning.
Libraries Gain NACO Independence
The Libraries was approved for membership in the Library of Congress' Name Authority Cooperative Program after successfully participating in the training and review process. This membership allows Drexel's library catalogers to directly contribute Identity Files to the Library of Congress - establishing national standards for consistent use of names, places, topics and more.
Beyond Lecturing: Online Instruction & Demonstrations
Online tools have become an increasingly valuable and efficient vehicle for the Libraries to reach online students for instruction and research guidance.   The liaison librarians in the Library Academic Partnerships division at the Libraries have many years of experience teaching and working with students online.

Over 60 Authors and Editors to be Recognized Later this Month
