Sam Klemet to Become
CEO of the MAB
|
Sam Klemet rose out of 38 applicants to be the number one choice of the MAB Transition committee for the position of President/CEO of the MAB upon the retirement of long-time President and CEO Karole White in January of 2022.
Sam will begin at the MAB in early September as President-Elect and work with Ms. White until her retirement. Ms. White is working out the details with the transition committee to serve as a consultant to the new CEO for a period of time as needed next year. Read More and View Sam's Welcome Video and Resume.

MAB Signs 50 State Tax Certificate Letter;

Your MAB has joined 49 other state broadcast associations in signing a letter to Congress in support for the Minority Tax Certificate Program. During the 117th Congress, the Expanding Broadcast Ownership Opportunities Act (H.R. 4871) was introduced in the House. Additionally, Sen. Gary Peters (MI) and Sen. Robert Menendez (NJ) introduced S.2456, the Broadcast VOICES Act in the Senate.

No Michigan Stations on Latest FCC EEO Audit List
|
Michigan broadcast stations can breathe a sigh of relief as there are no call letters from our state on the latest FCC EEO Audit list, released August 6. This is the second round of its 2021 Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audit letters to randomly selected radio and television stations. Reminder: Submit Your Final Repacking Invoices Soon
|
On August 9, the FCC issued a Public Notice reminding all full-power and Class A TV stations that were repacked in Phases 1 through 5 of the post-incentive auction repacking of the TV band (and repacked stations that were granted permission to transition prior to Phase 1) that they must submit all remaining invoices for reimbursement from the TV Broadcaster Relocation Fund no later than October 8, 2021. Sinclair Broadcast Group's WWMT-TV (Kalamazoo) has lit up a new transmitter and antenna at its Gun Lake transmitter site in Barry County.
