This month, Dean Nitecki toasts the start of a new academic year and explores what the phrase "return to campus" means for the Libraries after 18 months of decreased in-person activity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


The Drexel Libraries is excited to welcome the University community back to its physical (and virtual!) spaces this fall – we missed you Dragons! Here's what you'll need to know about our plans for the fall.



Each year, the Drexel University Libraries hosts a variety of events to stimulate and engage diverse knowledge communities among Drexel students, faculty and staff. This fall, the Libraries is excited to announce the return of in-person events for the first time since the start of the pandemic, including a new exhibit that celebrates 50 years of WKDU, Drexel's student-run radio station.


The exhibit WKDU: 50 Years of Student-Run Radio is on display in the W. W. Hagerty Library this fall.
Later this month, the Drexel Libraries plans to formally launch two new systems: The Drexel University Archival Collections platform and Drexel Research Discovery. Learn more about these systems and how they will improve access to University research and archival materials.

The Drexel University Libraries & University Archives join WKDU in celebrating 50 years on the air as Drexel’s student-run radio station in this exhibit of artifacts, photographs and documents from the station’s decades of broadcasting. This exhibit is free and open to the public.



This webinar will introduce you to the advanced techniques and tools available for searching patents, including the Cooperative Patent Classification System (CPC).




Join us for Open Access Week, an annual, international event promoting open access to research. This year, the Drexel Libraries is hosting several virtual webinars as part of its continuing efforts to bring Open Access to campus. Details are still in the works and will be announced shortly.




Drexel Professor Franco Montalto, Director of the Sustainable Water Resource Engineering Lab, will kick off the 2021/2022 ScholarSip event series with a discussion on his work and research in sustainability and climate change.
