DISTRICT NEWS
JANUARY IS SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH!

We are grateful for our board of directors and their dedication to our community! School board of directors volunteer their time to serve our community and are elected by voters to lead and oversee the vision of the Bellevue School District. Governor Jay Inslee issued a proclamation to mark the occasion.

Bellevue’s board of directors is made up of five community members who represent geographical districts and they include former students in the Bellevue School District and parents of current and former students. They are lawyers, doctors, educators, and volunteers and bring together a collection of diverse and unique experiences and backgrounds.

Thank you to our board members for their service!

BELLEVUE SCHOOLS FOUNDATION ANNUAL SPRING FOR SCHOOLS LUNCHEON NEWS

The Bellevue Schools Foundation Annual Spring for Schools luncheon is going virtual. Our event is virtual. The need for your support is real. We are busy planning a wonderful virtual event of giving and camaraderie for our donors and community. Our event will be held on April 30, 2021. More details to follow.
CONGRATULATIONS TO BSD'S NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED TEACHERS!

Congratulations to the twelve Bellevue School District teachers who have earned or renewed their National Board certificates this year! These teachers had the opportunity to defer the pursuit of certification due to COVID, but instead chose to submit their work to the National Board for scoring by June, 2020.

Bellevue School District currently employs over 400 National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs). According to the National Board, Bellevue ranks 20th out of all public school districts nationwide in terms of the total number of NBCTs who have earned the distinction.

In addition, last year, Bellevue School District was recognized by the National Board as one of three districts in which more than 40% of its staff has earned certification since the inception of the National Board process: National Board Accomplished Districts.

The collective support of the Bellevue School District and the Bellevue Schools Foundation makes it possible for Bellevue teachers to participate in the highest level of professional development available to educators today.
